This package is the same as the UV-5G Plus 2 pack except the price is nearly $10 less. The radios are the same and configuration software for UV-5G Plus will work for this radio set. These radios are also locked to GMRS channels and labeled GMRS on the back of the radios. This indicates they can be legally used as GMRS radios unlike the HAM variant, where there might be some stipulations if transmitting on GMRS channels. Although the HAM variant of this radio Baofeng 5RM, when programmed properly, can operate as this GMRS radio with access to Airband frequencies. 4 stars because the radio is locked to GMRS channels without access to airband.
