1 review for BAOFENG UV-5G Plus GMRS Handheld Radio

  1. Quentin

This radio is a great GMRS radio. It is locked to GMRS channels and comes configured for GMRS 1-22 and 8 repeater channels. If you want to use channel names instead of frequencies or channels, download the Baofeng GM5R CPS software for the UV-5GPlus and configure the radio with the channel names and select use display type A/B: Name in Windows -> function menu. There are many settings and configuration options.

I would prefer to be able to program the radio with AirBand channels to recieve.

There is a variant of this radio which supports airband and can be programmed for an extended range of channels. The varient of this radio that supports these options is Baofeng UV-5RM HAM radio.

4 stars because the radio is locked to GMRS channels without access to airband.
